From the start, the company pushed the boundaries of technology, leveraging optical fibers, microscopic surface analysis, 3D digitization, spectral analysis, and photometry to deliver accurate, reproducible measurements across multiple industries.

In 1998, EOTECH recognized an exciting opportunity in the cosmetic and personal care sector. The company adapted its expertise to evaluate skin, hair, and nails, providing tools that transformed cosmetic research.

By integrating device, software, and installation into a fully automated package, EOTECH gave researchers a complete, user-friendly solution — simplifying workflows while maintaining the highest level of precision.

A landmark collaboration with L’Oréal set the stage for EOTECH’s leadership in cosmetic science. L’Oréal sought to digitalize skin in 3D, enabling their researchers to analyze the skin in unprecedented detail. EOTECH: Real 3D Imaging Expertise

EOTECH stands out in the world of cosmetic and dermatological measurement thanks to its imaging systems built upon a foundation of true 3D measurement.

EOTECH’s technology captures the actual topography of the skin’s surface using Fringe Projection and Stereometry — two complementary optical techniques that deliver unparalleled accuracy and reproducibility.

Fringe Projection is a structured Light for depth accuracy. It provides a dense and reliable height map that captures even the smallest morphological details, making it ideal for measuring fine wrinkles, skin roughness, or surface changes over time.

To complement fringe projection, EOTECH integrates Stereometry, a technique based on triangulation. It ensures depth fidelity and spatial accuracy, especially across complex surfaces such as facial contours.

The combination of multiple viewing angles also minimizes shadowing and improves repeatability, making measurements robust under real-world conditions.
