AEVA is specifically designed for in vivo and in vitro skin relief analysis. It guides the user from “creation of project” through data acquisition to results, with an intuitive multilingual UI.

It also automates many of the data-analysis tasks: extracting parameters such as roughness, volume change, pattern detection (pores, wrinkles, folds), structure densities, 3D comparisons / shape changes.

AEVA Specific Analytical Functions

Table of the AEVA Specific Analytical Functions

AEVA is built to manage project workflows: you define the project (hardware config, claim type, zones of interest out of a predefined list), then link the acquisition settings automatically, yet retain flexibility. Then, it exports results in standard formats: CSV for quantitative data, PNG (or other) for visual output, making it compatible with further statistical or presentation work.

For longitudinal studies, especially body/face monitoring, AEVA ensures repeatable positioning (through compatible positioning benches/hardware) and aligns time-point data to baseline for accurate change measurement.

WHAT MAKES AVEA THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND ALL 3D IMAGING SOLUTIONS

When paired with scanners like AEVA-HE², AEVA allows high-resolution analysis (Z resolution ~4 µm for large field-of-view) enabling detection of subtle changes in skin structure. Whether you’re measuring micro-relief on a small zone of skin, full-face wrinkle mapping, or body volume changes (e.g., slimming), AEVA supports flexibility across applications.

Since AEVA is a unified platform for hardware, it handles multiple scanners/hardware setups. It streamlines training, facilitates data integration and enhances study management across different measurement devices.

Valuable for marketing, R&D, and regulatory or clinical reporting, AEVA’s visual and animation tools ensure that data is not just collected but communicated in a compelling, engagement & presentation ready format.

AEVA redefines how cosmetic research teams explore and present the science of skin. Combining cutting-edge 3D imaging with refined, user-friendly software, AEVA transforms every measurement into clear, actionable insights that drive better decision-making.From subtle texture variations to visible shape and volume changes, it delivers data that is as precise as it is captivating. It is designed for forward-thinking R&D teams and trusted by leading cosmetic brands.

AEVA elevates research to a new standard where scientific excellence meets visual impact and innovation meets beauty.

Discover AEVA 4D & 3D Modules

Capture Every Contour, Track Every Motion

AEVA Software powers more than 3D imaging — it drives innovation through its 4D and 3D modules.

The 4D module tracks facial motion over time, while the 3D module captures every contour of the face and lips in stunning detail, delivering precise and actionable insights for research.

4D Module

The 4D Module is bringing Skin Dynamics to Life.

The 4D Module takes skin analysis beyond static snapshots, capturing changes over time to reveal dynamic skin behavior in unprecedented detail.

The 4D Module builds on AEVA’s high-precision 3D imaging by adding the time dimension to capture dynamic skin behavior. Using fringe projection and stereometry, the system generates highly detailed 3D surface maps of the skin at multiple time points. The 4D Module then aligns these sequential 3D scans to detect minute changes in skin topography, micro-relief, volume, and shape over time.

Here are some key technical points:

  1. High-speed sequential acquisition – The system captures multiple 3D images over a defined period, ensuring temporal resolution sufficient to track rapid or subtle changes.

  2. Automated 3D registration – Consecutive scans are aligned precisely, compensating for minor movements and ensuring accurate comparison across time points.

  3. Differential analysis – The software calculates volumetric changes, surface roughness variation, and skin deformation (like dynamic wrinkles), allowing quantitative assessment of treatment effects or product impact.

  4. Advanced visualization – Dynamic maps, color-coded overlays, and time-lapse animations help researchers see, measure, and communicate changes clearly, turning complex temporal data into actionable insights.

This powerful module enables the study of skin aging, hydration, elasticity, and other temporal effects with precision and clarity.

Integrated seamlessly into AEVA’s intuitive software, the 4D module transforms complex datasets into easy-to-understand, visually compelling insights, making it an essential tool for cosmetic R&D teams aiming to demonstrate product efficacy, optimize formulations, and communicate results effectively.

3D Module

The 3D Module offers precise Geometry Analysis for Face and Lips.

The 3D Module is designed to deliver high-precision 3D geometry measurements of the entire face and lip area, providing researchers with detailed quantitative data on shape, symmetry, and surface texture.

Using a three-point positioning system — one point on each side of the eyes and one on the upper lip — the module accurately positions the face in 3D space. This spatial calibration ensures that every measurement is perfectly aligned, allowing for consistent and repeatable analysis across subjects and time points.

Once the facial geometry is established, the module defines specific regions of interest (ROIs) for targeted evaluation.

Comprehensive 3D Metrics and Capabilities

The 3D Module quantifies key parameters that describe the morphology and texture of the face and lips, including:

  • Distances, section lengths, and angles — for detailed geometric profiling of facial features.

  • Lip volume, height, and contour — offering precise evaluation of volumizing or reshaping effects.

  • Surface roughness and texture — detecting even subtle improvements in smoothness or hydration.

  • 20 to 25 dedicated metrics — providing a complete dataset for in-depth analysis and comparison.

The 3D Module is a powerful and versatile tool for make-up, dermocosmetic, and cosmetic research.

In make-up studies, it enables precise assessment of lip-plumping effects, color adherence, and long-lasting wear through accurate volume and shape measurements.

For dermocosmetic applications, it quantifies clinical improvements in lip hydration, elasticity, and surface condition with exceptional sensitivity.

Within the cosmetic field, it allows researchers to evaluate the impact of anti-aging, firming, or contouring formulations on overall facial geometry, offering objective and reproducible data that reveal even the most subtle changes in appearance.

Why It Matters

In a field where visual performance meets scientific validation, the 3D Module bridges the gap. It provides objective, reproducible, and visually compelling data that enhance credibility in R&D, marketing, and regulatory reporting.

By combining advanced geometric mapping with AEVA’s analytical power, it turns every study into clear proof of efficacy—from the first pixel to the final report.
