Skinlabs at the Forefront of Innovation: Showcasing Delfin's Advanced Skin Measurement Instruments at the Topical Products Conference 2025
We sincerely thank all the participants who stopped by the Skinlabs table, showcasing Delfin Instruments. We appreciated your interest and the meaningful conversations about advancing skin research and topical product development.
At Skinlabs, we are committed to being more than just a provider of Delfin Instruments—we’re here to be your partner. Whether you're selecting the most suitable Instrument for your study, conducting lab tests, claims validation or optimizing your research protocols, our team is ready to support you every step of the way.
We look forward to continued collaboration and to helping you achieve precision, reliability, and innovation in your work.
The Topical Products Conference 2025, held on June 9th in Atlanta, Georgia, brought together leading experts, researchers, and industry innovators focused on advancements in topical and transdermal drug delivery systems. The conference provided a comprehensive platform to explore key topics such as formulation development, permeation studies, drug delivery technologies, regulatory sciences, and emerging innovations in skin biology and nanotechnology.
Renowned speakers like Inayet Ellis, PhD, Dr. Narasimha Murthy, PhD and Professor Ajay K. Banga from Mercer University shared valuable insights on topics like "Optimizing penetration enhancers for potent skin delivery", "In Vitro Permeation Test (IVPT)", and "Complex formulations and biophysical technologies for dermal applications of repurposed drugs", respectively. They highlighted the challenges and breakthroughs in topical product research.
This underscored the significance of accurate measurement and delivery in topical products.
As an exhibitor, Skinlabs showcased Delfin's cutting-edge Instruments, which are crucial for the topical products industry. They provide highly accurate, non-invasive measurement of skin properties such as, barrier function, hydration and elasticity among others. These capabilities enable researchers and developers to assess skin physiology, monitor product efficacy, and optimize formulation performance in real-time.
The precision and reliability of Delfin Instruments support critical research workflows, from early-stage formulation to clinical evaluation, making them indispensable tools in advancing topical drug development.
Participants were able to understand the value added Delfin Instruments can bring to topical products development and research:
Using the VapoMeter™, the skin barrier is assessed in closed chamber, which is essential to prevent ambient airflows from affecting the measurement.
The MoistureMeterSC™ measures hydration at the surface level of the skin, the MoistureMeterEpid™ at the epidermis level, and the MoistureMeterD™ Compact at the dermis level.
The Elastimeter™ assesses the skin elasticity, the SkinColorCatch™ shows all the skin color parameters, measures RGB, CIE L*a*b* and L*c*h* color coordinates and calculates automatically the ITA degree, which classifies the skin tone, and the SkinGlossMeter™ measures the shininess of the skin surface and the lips for example, providing an objective evaluation of how light reflects off the skin.
Giving instant results, these lightweight portable Instruments can measure, assess and monitor the skin properties on any part of the body and in any position. They can be wirelessly connected to a DMC Software for data collection.
Overall, the conference emphasized the vital role of innovative technologies and multidisciplinary collaboration in driving the future of topical products — with Skinlabs featuring Delfin Instruments and positioned as a key partner in enabling scientific excellence along with product success.
